Description
Audi A4 B8 (2008–2015) headlights feature either halogen or Xenon HID systems with distinct pre-facelift (08-11) and facelift (12-16) designs. Xenon models often feature LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), while facelift models added refined styling.
- Pre-Facelift (2008–2011): Common HID (Xenon) headlight part numbers are 8K0941029 (Left) and 8K0941028 (Right), usually requiring separate ballasts.
- Facelift (2012–2016): Uses updated units such as 8K0941003AC for standard halogen or specific Xenon units.
- Technology: Options include standard halogen reflector units or projector-based HID Xenon systems
- Bulb Replacement: Xenon bulbs can be replaced by accessing the rear cover. It is recommended to replace both bulbs simultaneously for consistent output, says this YouTube video.
- Maintenance: Regular cleaning is necessary; check for condensation due to seal failures.
- Aftermarket/Replacements: High-quality options OEM.
- DRL Failure: LED strip failures in xenon headlights are common and often require headlight disassembly, as shown in this YouTube video.
